The neighbourhood:
The house is located in a residential cul-de-sac, in Vilas do Atlantico (locally known as Vilas): an up-market former condo, in the borough of Lauro de Freitas. Vilas is approximately 12km from Salvador international airport, and 25 km from the cityof Salvador, the capital of Bahia.

There are several buses in Vilas that go directly to the centre of Salvador and the pretty colonial historic centre of Pelorinho. Within walking distance from the house are: schools, several gyms, horse riding schools, a tennis club and a range of local shops including bars, restaurants, supermarkets, delicatessen, beauty salons, DVD rental shops.

The main attraction however, is Vilas beach. This charming tropical beach, with golden sands, lined full of coconut trees, and ted with a few good beach caf�/bars, has several water sport activities, such as surfing and kite surfing. During mating season whales can be spotted making their way down the coast.
